SEND Support
At Thundridge Primary School, we celebrate our differences and uniqueness and strive to ensure all children are able to fulfil their potential. We recognise and value the special qualities each individual child brings to our school. Our expectations for each child is high and we encourage all to be active learners with positive mindsets. Through bespoke planning, quality first teaching and the delivery of targeted support work, we aim to enable all children, no matter what specific need they may have, to achieve their goals.
Our approach to SEND is child centred with the individual and the family being at the forefront. The child’s voice guides our practice and planning and ensures the curriculum our children receive is individual to them. We work in partnership with families to meet the needs of all children utilising pupil passport schemes, home/school contracts, pupil voice sessions and target setting with both children and parents.

All Hertfordshire maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). They are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school. Schools aim to be inclusive, with the needs of SEND pupils being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible, if families wish this to happen.
